Project Bundle-Up Shopping Trips
During the final weeks of the summer 2013, The Salvation Army & WTAE’s Project Bundle-Up had another successful Online Auction, which ran from August 23rd through September 6th. More than 400 items were able to be viewed on www.projectbundleup.com, www.wtae.com, and www.salvationarmy-wpa.org with the auction taking place on eBay. Each week, approximately 200 items were auctioned off. These items included: electronics, furniture, bedding, kitchen appliances, luggage, home appliances, personal care items, vacuums, steamers, sporting event tickets, restaurant gift cards, golf merchandise, golf certificates, hotel gift certificates, beauty products, designer handbags, jewelry, and many other great items!
Some of the top selling items were: a LAMAR Billboard which sold for $4,000, a Pittsburgh Pirates Suite Tickets package for 15 people, generously donated by The Pittsburgh Steelers, which sold for $1,226.00, and an 10x10 Madison Mini-Barn Shed, provided by Pine Creek Structures, which sold for $1,275.00.
For 27 years, The Salvation Army and WTAE's Project Bundle-Up Auction has played a critical role in providing hundreds of thousands of coats, hats, mittens and boots for needy children and seniors across Western Pennsylvania. This year’s Online Auction generated over $100,000. The success of this auction will allow WTAE’s Project Bundle-Up to provide winter outerwear to at least 1,400
